Women of all ages encouraged to attend health symposium at nocharge
Events to include health screenings, product demonstrations andinformational speakers
Women from all walks of life are invited to experience the firstannual Wal-Mart Canada Women's Wellness Symposium to be heldSaturday, March 25, at Angus Glen Country Club in Markham, Ontario,from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. This event - which is sponsored by Wal-MartCanada and offered at no charge - will move women in the GTA one stepcloser to better health and wellness. From ages eight to 108,daughters, sisters, mothers and grandmothers alike can make March 25a fun and educational day for all generations. With a fashion show,health screenings, expert speakers and more, the Wal-Mart Women'sWellness Symposium has something for every woman in the community.
Television personalities Marilyn Denis and Lynn Spence will hostthe fashion show and home decor event. Through its Wal-Mart Pharmacy Living Smart program, Wal-Mart iscommitted to helping families make smart choices for their health. Asa leading provider of health and wellness products to women acrossCanada, Wal-Mart recognizes its role in helping Canadian women becomebetter informed about their personal health and the health of theirfamilies. Together with its suppliers and health-expert partners, Wal-Mart's goal is to inform and educate women about living full, healthylifestyles. More than two dozen companies and health associationswill provide health information and services, including healthevaluations, vision screening, fitness and Tai Chi demonstrations,make-overs, activities and more.
Additionally, female Wal-Mart executives will be on-hand for apanel discussion about careers at Wal-Mart, and particularly theopportunities for women at a global company. The panel of leaders --including Wal-Mart Canada's Senior Vice-President of OperationsViolet Konkle, Vice-President of People Division Mary Alice Vuicicand Vice-President of Merchandising Gail Galea -- will take questionsfrom the audience, and provide first-hand accounts of maintaining awork-life balance.
