FLORENCE-DARLINGTON TECHNICAL COLLEGE WELCOMES NEW FACULTY AND STAFF MEMBERS FOR NEW YEAR - US Fed News Service, Including US State News

Florene-Darlington Technical College issued the following news release:

Florence-Darlington Technical College (FDTC) President Dr. Charles Gould is proud to announce the following appointments to the faculty and staff for the New Year.

Dean Fowler is the newest face in the Physical Plant as the Property and Inventory Control Coordinator. Dean earned an Associate of Science degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from FDTC. His past work experiences include truck driver for Randy Pigate Construction and a dock Worker/delivery Driver for Old Dominion Freight, Estes Freight and Southeastern Freight.

Joe Grimes joins Tech's faculty as an Instructor of Welding in the Advanced Welding and Cutting Center. Joe attended Wallace Rose Hill High School. Before coming to FDTC, Joe's been a Welder, Fabricator and Supervisor for Industrial Machine and Fabricators, and a Certified Pipe Welder for Power Plant Maintenance, Wellman Industries and DuPont.

Laura J. Hope has joined the full time faculty in the Nursing Department at the College's Health Science Campus. Laura began her nursing career at FDTC earning an associate of science degree in Nursing. She also holds a bachelor's and master's degree in nursing from the Medical University of South Carolina. Laura's been a Certified Diabetes Educator for Carolinas Hospital System, a Charge Nurse for Lake City Community Hospital and an adjunct instructor for FDTC.

Allen Jowers is the newest Audio-Visual Support Technician for the On line College. Allen earned an Associate of Sciences degree in Electronic Engineering Technology from FDTC and a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from The Citadel. He's previously worked as an Instructional Support Technician and Math Lab Tutor for FDTC, Certified Personal Trainer/Nutritionist for Big Al's Body Sculpting and McLeod Health and Fitness. He's also been a Technician and Shift Mechanic for Wellman, an Unload and Presort Supervisor for UPS, Field Service Engineer for ESAB and Owner of Jowers TV and Mullins Salvage Shop.

Shantel Luckey has been appointed to the position of Student Records Coordinator in the Office of the Registrar. Shantel earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science from Francis Marion University. Her past experiences include working as a Medicaid Clerk for Florence School District One, a Classroom Assistant at Savannah Grove Elementary, Teller for Wachovia Bank, a secretary for Unique Sensations and a Shift Manager for Pizza Hut.
